San Jose advances plan to filter stormwater with green infrastructure

San Jose staff updated the Transportation and Environment Committee on a citywide plan to use vegetation, soil and natural processes to slow, filter and treat stormwater before it reaches creeks and San Francisco Bay. The plan must meet stormwater permit and Baykeeper consent decree requirements, including at least $100 million in projects over 10 years. Staff and consultants are developing the plan for committee and council review in 2019, with submission to the Water Board due Sept. 30, 2019.
