Committees approve agendas, $2,500 grant and public safety reports

The Rules and Open Government Committee unanimously approved the City Council agendas for Oct. 20 and Oct. 27, 2026, and approved placing a $2,500 District 9 grant for the Rotary Club of San Jose Foundation on the Oct. 20 agenda. The committee also approved Councilmember David Cohen’s travel and excused absence, correcting the location from Redondo Beach to Anaheim, and canceled its Oct. 21 meeting. Separately, the Public Safety, Finance, and Strategic Support Committee unanimously accepted annual reports on city retirement investments, police staffing and recruitment, and fire call volumes and response times. All votes were 5-0-0.
