Council to consider four-year reappointment for Civil Service commissioner

San Jose City Council is set to consider reappointing Sharon Hightower to the Civil Service Commission's attorney seat for a four-year term from Dec. 1, 2026, through Nov. 30, 2030. Hightower is the only current qualified applicant and has served as the commission's chair. The City Attorney's Office found no pervasive conflict preventing her from serving, subject to case-specific recusals.
