Summary

Sacramento’s Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Commission (ACCEC) will discuss progress on race and cultural equity goals under the City’s Creative Edge Plan. The Race and Cultural Equity Ad Hoc Committee, formed in June 2026, is conducting a six-month review focused on accountability, building on the Commission’s 2020 equity statement and its priorities for outreach, access, and accountability. The committee includes five commissioners and will examine how arts and cultural efforts serve Sacramento’s diverse communities and neighborhoods. The Commission is asked only to receive and comment; no funding, legislation, or project approval is proposed. The discussion follows City Code and Brown Act requirements for ad hoc committees and supports Creative Edge Goals 2 and 5, as well as all five 2026 ACCEC workplan goals.
