Summary

Sacramento’s Active Transportation Commission reviewed and commented on File 2026-01607, a project to consolidate regional bus service near Sacramento Valley Station (401 I Street, District 4). The plan would reorganize 34 dispersed, uncoordinated stops into 17 strategic locations, improving connections to rail and future Valley Rail service. A longer-term, 18-bay Regional Bus Mobility Hub could serve Amtrak, private carriers, and transit agencies connecting 62 cities across 22 counties. Funded through state grants with regional partners, the project is entering final design in 2026, with construction anticipated in 2027–2028. It includes pedestrian and bicycle safety features and supports the City’s 2040 General Plan. Community and commission feedback will inform design; CEQA clearance is complete.
