Summary
The Stockton Boulevard Safety and Transit Enhancement Project (STEP) is a collaborative initiative led by the City of Sacramento, in partnership with Sacramento County and the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT). This project aims to improve safety and accessibility along Stockton Boulevard, a corridor identified as one of the highest for traffic-related fatalities. It will assess multimodal enhancements, including bus lanes, pedestrian upgrades, and bicycle facilities, with the overarching goal of increasing transit ridership and creating a safer environment for all users. The project is funded through federal and state grants and will undergo an alternatives analysis to identify the most effective solutions.
