Jacksonville seeks more time to spend affordable-housing funds

Jacksonville is extending the deadline to spend State Housing Initiatives Partnership funds on completed affordable-housing projects from June 30, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The program serves very low-, low- and moderate-income families and can fund repairs, construction, rehabilitation, down-payment help and other housing costs. The mayor or her designee and the corporation secretary may sign documents needed for the extension. The ordinance was introduced at the mayor’s request and is not yet decided.
