Council proposes honorary Waller Street markers for Bishop Jan Goodman

Jacksonville proposes naming the stretch of Waller Street between Willow Branch Avenue and McDuff Avenue South in honor of Bishop Dr. Jan D. Goodman Sr. and installing two roadside markers in Council District 9. The proposal would waive rules requiring an honoree to be deceased for five years and to have lived within five miles of the street for at least 10 years. Three affected property owners consented, and the City Council introduced the ordinance; no vote is provided.
