Description
RESOLUTION NO. 141-26: DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE
Summary
Resolution No. 141-26 concerns Delray Beach’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) millage for fiscal year 2026–27, beginning October 1, 2026. It proposes an operating rate of 1.0000 mill and no debt-service millage, applied to taxable property within the downtown district. State-required calculations show a rolled-back rate of 0.9469 mill and allow up to 1.0416 mills with a two-thirds vote; the proposed rate therefore requires a two-thirds vote of the governing body. Based on taxable value of approximately $2.277 billion, the levy is estimated at $2.277 million. The DDA budget anticipates about $2.21 million in total revenue and funds marketing, economic development, placemaking, grants, payroll, and operations. The resolution is the first of two required public hearings, with the second scheduled for September 22, 2026.
