Description
Special - Joint Meeting Minutes
Summary
At its July 9, 2026 joint meeting, the Annapolis Rules and City Government Committee reviewed Ordinance O-16-26, sponsored by Alderman Savidge. The legislation would revise the City’s forest conservation code to align with Maryland law, update definitions, establish afforestation requirements, create exemptions for certain linear and solar projects, and add public notice and comment procedures for clearing priority retention areas. It would also broaden reforestation mitigation options and modify forest conservation fund and mitigation-bank credit rules. The committee favorably recommended Amendments 2, 3, and 6, took no action on Amendments 4 and 5, and took no final action on the ordinance itself. The matter therefore remained pending further consideration.
