Mobile Food Service Vendors - Historic District Special Events For the purpose of restoring the operation of mobile food service vendors in the City's Historic District to permit their participation in a special event organized by a qualifying business association, as well as a special event organized by the City; and generally relating to the areas of operation of mobile food service vendors.

Summary

Annapolis Ordinance 25-26 amends City Code §7.40.090(B)(1) to expand when mobile food service vendors, or food trucks, may operate in the Historic District. In addition to City-organized events, vendors may participate in special events hosted by qualifying local business associations representing nearby businesses, such as the First Sunday Arts Festival. The measure restores authorization that existed before Ordinance 29-23, which had limited Historic District food trucks primarily to City-designated events and required separate Council approval for others. Events must still receive required special-event permits. The ordinance affects food-truck operators, business associations, nearby businesses, event attendees, and City administrative processes. It is expected to have no staffing or direct fiscal impact and to reduce delays by removing repeated Council approvals.
